macintosh os x programmer for hire
Automation and Application Development
Are you an individual or small business who needs her/his Macintoshes to be more productive? Just think of all those hours, every night and weekend, when your Macintosh sits there, idle, NOT helping your business grow. What a moocher!
I can help you squeeze more productivity out of your Macintosh running OS X 10.4 or later. Specifically, I have professional experience in developing Applescript, UNIX scripting, and Cocoa applications for the Mac.
What you need...
- You need to get more work done in less time.
- You need an extra employee, but cannot afford one.
"If only my Macintosh were smarter," you may think to yourself. - Lots of rote work performed rapidly en masse.
- A simple tool that empowers employees, regardless of skill level, to perform complicated tasks with utmost precision.
- A tool that ensures every staff member performs a certain series of tasks in an identical manner, perhaps to force homogeneity on critical data entry processes.
What I offer...
- Applescript, Cocoa/Objective-C, UNIX scripting solutions.
I will choose the correct tool for the job. - Absolute professionalism, articulate correspondence, and utter client confidentiality.
- Expert knowledge of creative workflows, especially in Adobe Creative Suite.
- A strong ability to distill workflows and business processes into their core essences and act methodically upon them.
- Honesty. If I can't do what you need, I will explain in clear reasons why
as well as explain what I think you DO need to get your work done. - Reasonable Price. I do not yet have "dozens of years of experience" under my belt,
and my need for more experience means you get a price break.
Examples of what I can do for you...
- You're a graphic artist who has a preflight checklist of 20 criteria that must be met before sending a job to the printer. "All Illustrator colors should be CMYK. All placed images should have an effective resolution between 250 and 400 dpi. A list of all linked graphics should be placed on the pasteboard. Etc..." This task can be automated for individual files or whole folders full of files, doing the mundane work for you and giving you a report of what did and didn't pass.
- You need form letters, but not just any old generic form letter will do. You need semi-custom PDFs generated as emails come in with specific keywords in the subject line or body of the email. You need an InDesign template that re-typesets itself, referencing a new client by business and personal contact name, choosing a different set of seasonal photos for inclusion in the document.
- You're a whiz at Microsoft Office, and now Microsoft has announced they are dropping Visual Basic from future versions of Office for the Macintosh. How are you going to achieve the same kinds of inter-application wizardry that were once possible in VB? An Applescript solution is the answer, and it also opens up the possibilities of interfacing Office with other non-Microsoft software in your workflow.
